Second Pass on "Bad Boss, Great Boss"

I'm making fast progress on my second editing pass of the above mentioned project, one that will ultimately be my second non-fiction book.  This project draws on some of the material I developed for my Corporate Politics Blog (which is currently offline,) expanding on the subject matter and linking it all together.

The idea behind the project is to provide managers and employees with a new way of thinking about the boss-subordinate relationship.  In the first part of the book, I explore a number of boss behaviors that are found in many managers, and show how, when taken to the extreme, they result in obnoxious, hard to tolerate people that few if anyone want to work for.  In the second part of the book, I deconstruct the behaviors and characteristics that made my best boss a great manager.

The biggest challenge in the project is making sure that I'm not overly repetitive, particularly in part 2.  Since I'm trying to artificially pull apart behaviors from a real manager, behaviors that are all linked to one another, there tends to be some overlap between categories and descriptions.  In reality, the elements are all part of a whole, real person and not truly separable.

Here is the book's cover.
